The Eagle was a gift to my son, Sam, who surrounds himself with images of Eagles. The Eagle is symbolic of freedom, strength and of leadership. My son, only young already shows the strong character traits synonymous with being a natural leader. Like an eagle he too has the ability to rise above a situation and see the bird’s eye view. I was inspired to paint the Eagle as my son continues to inspire myself with his unique perspective. Like the Eagle, I want my son always to be free. I want him to soar into the greatness, for which I know he is destined. | This painting appeared during a meditation and was painted as a gift for my daughter Brittany, who has the depth of beauty that I see when I look at a rose. It’s a beauty that comes from within and gently reveals itself, much like a rose, petal by petal. I wish for my daughter that the path of her journey is always lined with the beauty of the rose. |

These faceless nudes are symbolic of the focus on body image, forgetting the old saying that the eyes are the window to the soul. So much is read about a person simply by looking at their body. | I have spent a lot of time on the water with my family and I am amazed at the endless beauty I see there. The big break is symbolic to me of inner emotional turmoil. At the time of painting this I was finding my new direction in life, changing from an Accountant to an Artist. Previously I had been so used to changing my inner world to reflect that of my outer experiences, in order to bring harmony into my life. I was to learn that when I acknowledge the yearnings of my soul my outer world becomes a reflection of the inner peace I feel. You can only deny the inner presence until it causes such turmoil that you have to acknowledge it and give it space in your reality. |

Each of these paintings is symbolic of an inner journey, each coinciding with an evolutionary phase of my own spiritual path. From the moment I was inspired to paint Buddha, I felt like someone else was in the brush. I was not alone while I painted. I could see in the blank canvas the face that was to appear, long before it was visible to anyone else. I have since had the pleasure to journey with this presence through illness, to be blessed with the discovery that even when things seem really bad we are never alone. | Stop, listen and watch for the vision that will change the direction of your life. It is also approaching a time where you need to walk your talk. There is a time we are all called to speak our truth and to be there as an inspiration for others. We can learn so much from this beautiful bird. |

It is natural for life to take on the natural seasonal flows of summer, winter, autumn and spring. As I painted this Sleeping Buddha I myself was approaching a winter in my life cycle. It was a time for me to look within, in order to find the answers I was seeking. | This is the soul and heart merging to release all the pain, fear and hurt associated with the past. It’s symbolic of learning to let go so one can embrace the future. |

My daughter Brittany, she is one of the many Angels who bless our days. This painting is a reminder to see the angel within those around us. | This is the union of two souls, dancing to the song of love. |

The beauty of the outback says it all. It is the heart of Australia and stands for everything we are proud of as Australians. It is harsh and yet captivating in its incredible beauty. | I have a fascination with the beautiful canals of Venice. I liken my fascination to my interest in Atlantis. It is mystical and much like I imagine Atlantis once was. |

Strength comes from knowing one-self. It comes from knowing ones own greatness and being comfortable to live it. | She’s there but not quite ready to reveal herself, maybe in time? |

What was Monet’s fascination with lily ponds? I have read it was his interest in capturing the light, was it more than that? I only know how I felt while I painted this piece, peaceful and calm. Maybe there lies his intention? | Coming from within and expressing one-self. |
